Sneak Peek: " Let's go shopping. You clearly need some fashion sense knocked into you." I joke. He chuckles. " Says you." He says in amusement. I punch him lightly on the arm and turn on the radio. Over the past few days Xander and I have turned into good friends. Most of the times that I ride in his car we have what we call radio sessions, where we just sing at the top of our lungs. It's actually very relaxing having someone who won't judge you and who you can be yourself with. I'd never be confident enough to do that with Zachary. After a few songs I turn off the radio and sigh. It's quiet for a second before Xander glances at me with curiosity. I raise an eyebrow. He turns his gaze back to the road. I smile. I liked this sort of quiet, it's peaceful and understanding. I close my eyes feeling comfortable and trusting. I knew that we didn't have to talk to communicate, we could just sneak glances or read each other's movements. We already knew each other too well. Not at all like Zachary and I. Zachary and I, I realize, don't know each other that well. We never became friends, we never took notice of each other's likes or dislikes. Our relationship moved much too fast for me to get to know him at all. And it is like this that I finally realize that, little by little, piece by piece, I've been falling in love. With Xander. I gasp. My eyes fly open and I look over at Xander whose gaze is now focused on me. " Are you okay?" He asks with concern in his voice. " Yes." I lie. What am I going to do?

A humorous look at the last 3/4 century as seen through the eyes of an old Iowa codger. Few topics escape the author's sharp wit, from tattoos to music to language to politics. All generations will find something to laugh about in this irreverent look at popular culture of today compared to the post-WW2 period through the 80's and beyond. If you are easily offended, read this book with caution.
