Detective Nick Burkhardt's life has already gone to the stranger side since awakening as a Grimm, but things take an even crazier turn when he receives a visit from two men, brothers Noah and Nathan Caldwell, who claim he's their long lost brother of the same father, one he himself never knew of. Alex is an orphan sent to live with his aunt and cousins. They tell him his parents died in a car crash but when Alex starts getting visions about the past he starts to question if his parents death was actually an accident.

All I wanted was to be a normal person, to fit in, to have friends, to be someone. Truth is, I'm something. It all started when I made the haunting mistake of walking through the alleyway trying to get home faster, and I knew it was a mistake the minuet I turned the corner, but I couldn't turn back. There was homeless men, women, and children, all trying to keep warm and dry in the cold rain, but that was not what sent the chills down my back, they where not homeless people, but simply homeless creatures, waiting to devour the souls of people making the wrong choice of walking down the alleyway so late at night; and I was one of those people.
