But when he's hunting in a small Vermont town with Sam and Dean, and they collide, Annie enlists the brothers to help her find the angel, and Cas, afraid of how she'll react, poses as an ordinary human and friend of the family. Not that being a hunter is ordinary, but for now, Cas waits in the shadows and watches his Annie move on while he deals with having to keep her secret just that.

"Castiel." She would whisper. Every morning, every time she regained consiousness I would hear it just as though she were right next to me. At first it was disconcerting, I would run to check that she was ok. She never trusted her archangel, and I was inclined to believe her instincts. She told me it was only to let me know that I was her first thought. -If only I had known just what she meant by that.- "Castiel. If I ever need you to rush to my side, I will almost definitely be screaming." She smiled and playfully hugged me, my vessel seemed to know what to do in return, so I put one arm over her shoulders for a moment. Now each morning I listen for her. My brothers have started to notice, but maybe one day I'll say her name back.

Oc x cas Marina is the older sibling of Dean and Sam. This is basically a fix it were everything that ever happened to Dean happens to her instead. Including falling for cas. Sorry about that.
