Marinette held his gaze defiantly and placed her other hand on his chest, right over his heart. It beat soft and steadily beneath her palm. She smiled to herself, "He's right here." Chat Blanc threw his head back and laughed, his icy blue eyes filled with dark amusement. "Oh Marinette, haven't you heard?" He ran his hand through her hair, fixated on how the silky strands fell between his fingers. He reached beneath her chin, tilting her face up to his. "People say there's a monster in Paris, and that monster is me." ◦◦◦ When Lila takes things a little too far and Marinette is expelled, she feels like she's lost everything: her friends, her future and, most of all, Adrien. But Chat Noir gives her hope and helps her form a plan to get her life back. Adrien has problems of his own. After an awful encounter with Ladybug he's no longer sure about their partnership and ends up failing Marinette when she needs him most. Only this time he won't sit back like he did before. But their misery beckons to Hawk Moth and he takes full advantage of the situation. Chat Blanc will do everything in his power to keep Chat Noir from coming back and Marinette is the only one who can save him. But without her powers the challenge seems near impossible. Because why would a monster turn back into a lowly human when he's given everything he's ever wanted?

Adrien Agreste's life begins to feel like it's been turned upside down when his father, Gabriel Agreste, starts to act more aggressive towards him. He puts him under stress with friend-time-ditching schedules, forced-in relationship with Kagami, mind-melting lessons, and abusive hits. Beginning to lose his sanity, he turns to Ladybug, begging her to change things just this once. Ladybug once again rejects Cat Noir, still fearing the sight of Cat Blanc. When her partner begins to beg, saying that his life is becoming a living Hell, she still rejects, this time, it gets too cold. The next thing she notices is her worst nightmare coming to life. With her partner akumatized, the love of her life, Adrien Agreste, missing, she has to do all she can to face the worst nightmare she'll ever face.
