This story was inspired by the book: Catcher in the Rye. Original this was a VCE Unit 1 outcome but I loved it too much and a friend to me to share It. There is only one part but I hope you enjoy (this is only the draft copy)

This book is inspired by my two favorite books: 'the catcher in the rye', and 'its kind of a funny' A mentally ill girl, who decided to do an exchange year, while trying to fight depression and other mental illnesses

We just finished this project in school, and I was assigned the task of writing from a female, modern day Holden's point of view. So here it is! Hope you enjoy! :D

For my English project, I have to write poetry representing Holden Caulfield from The Catcher In The Rye. So here we go!

"And when the snow fell, which was quite often in the Far East, like a fish out of water he returned to the riverside, in search of what exactly, he didn't know."

Shepherds watch over their sheep. They protect them, making sure they are safe. There was a shepherd who watched over his sheep. He made sure that they remained safe and happy in the rye fields. Most importantly, he made sure that they never went too near to the edge of the cliff, where an abyss of darkness plunged deep to the point of no return. This shepherd did this everyday-from the moment he woke up until he went to sleep. He did not mind this idyllic lifestyle; in fact, he preferred it to anything else. It was safe, comforting, and an easy job. When he notices a sheep has gone too close to the edge, he immediately goes to the rescue, only it does not seem to want to be saved. It only gets personal when his younger sister is the innocent sheep. *This is heavily inspired by "The Catcher in the Rye" by J.D. Salinger.*

This is my take on what might occur ten years after the conclusion of J.D. Salinger's original novel.

Okay, so this was basically a writing project that is based on the book "The Catcher in the Rye". I just decided to add it as a story on here because.. uh why not?

I had to write a "catcher in the rye" fanfic for school so I decided I might as well post it here This is a fanfic from the point of view of 13 year old Holden and how he dealt with the death of his brother
