[Heartless Prequel] When the White King discovers that the Red Queendom intends to assassinate his only daughter, he trusts Jest to act as the princess' guard. The White Queen does not want her daughter to feel frightened, so she suggests Jest court the princess and attribute his proximity to her as affection rather than a means of protection (she's giddy to see them get along!). When Jest hesitates to agree to this arrangement, the White Queen makes this promise: if he marries Princess Lily, he can leave his Rook duties behind him. But what if the princess knew how to protect herself? Jest's mind races: with a new Queen, they could end the war. With the war over, he could live a life of ease... the life he's always wanted. And without having to marry a stranger. Jest's life may have ended in the land of Hearts, but this is his life as a Rook (and jester?) in Chess. !!!!! This is a fanfiction of cath and regan from the novle FanGirl, I highly recomed reading the orginal novle first before reading my fanfiction.

Cath was just a regular school girl. She did her homework and got descent grades. She was a nobody, not at all popular. But who really wants to peak in high school? At least that was what she reasured her self with whenever she walked by the populars table and Britt gave her the "smirk from hell". What Cath thought to be just another regular day, would soon turn out to be life changing. In the weeks to come, she would find out more about herself than she ever did in her 17 years of life. Now, skipping school was one thing, but doing illegal business with the schools so called "bad boy". That's a whole different story. This wasn't what she had imagined when he said "I can show you the entire world in a matter of weeks", and finding out he was a whole different person than who she thought, didn't help the situation at all. But at least he was right about one thing; she was nothing before he found her.

"Can I kiss you?" Dumbfounded I stay still and stare at him. I see the bus come. He leans in. The bus is going to leave any second now. Then he kisses me. I stop thinking. His lips are so soft and warm they leave me in a trance. I need to get a hold of myself * * * Catherine Romeeve is your average high school student, she has a few good friends, she gets good grades in most subjects, and tries to keep her head low for the most part. But one night as she's waiting for her bus to come, a mystery guy from her school kisses her out of nowhere. Cath's whole world turns upside down as everything she ever thought she knew about her classmates, her friends and herself starts to change. Add this to trying to figure out who this mystery guy is and Cath's year turns into a roller coaster of emotions.
