In this anthology, we navigate strong feelings, deep emotions, heartbreak, loss, acceptance and rebirth... This book is for anyone who has ever been in love... or something like that.

You might be wondering why I named this book \backslash, why the \? what's your inspiration? And the answer is - There is no reason. I just thought the name with the sign at the beginning was cool so I did it. This was a collection of poems that had no correlation to one another in the start but as time went on and the book evolved; I had implemented a continuum to the last 7 stories as well as categorize and correlate all the poems in order, thus giving meaning to the collection; the name which had no meaning became significant in its own creation, giving itself value from its null beginning.

Slam poetry. Spoken word. Not-so-spoken words. Random bursts of inspiration. Catharses. Anything. Everything.

This story revolves around the struggle to survive early childhood following The Second World War. A time of austerity, at times brutality and sadness ,but mostly illustrated in a humorous vein. The story of a boy having suffered many and diverse head injuries, destined to failure. Short chapters based on actual events portraying life in the countryside, the good times and the not so good times delivered with an amusing thread. It is hoped that this catalogue of failure will at the very least, make someone smile with empathy.

It gets better. Isn't that what they say? Amethyst Turner isn't so sure. She waits and waits, but things only get worse. She sees happy families on TV, with a father and mother that love each other and their kids. They have a dog, and a nice house with curtains and heating. And the little girl in the TV family, she sleeps on a fluffy mattress, not a cardboard box. Her Daddy takes her to the park to play fetch with the dog when he comes home from work instead of getting drunk and passing out. TV girl's mother doesn't ignore her; she braids her hair and plays tea party with her. She looks and looks for the love that she knows is out there for her -- but it's nowhere to be found. The slow settling of night as darkness grows from behind the trees until it completely eclipses the day. It is the very nature of us all... THE DEPTH OF THE HUMAN EMOTION. Now, take all of that and release it.

Victor had only one thought: to avenge the death of his grandfather. But things take a wild turn when he meets a pair of friendly girls at school. But his father said that a girl with silver eyes killed his grandfather, and one of the girls just might be that murderer. Except that unexpected events soon result in unexpected love, and Victor soon finds himself discovering the most awful secret of all.

The year 800 I.T. Joining as an intern at WAIT, Edward McLaren Bower is excited at his triumph of having effortlessly secured a job his contemporaries highly covet. With his acumen for objective thinking and detailed observation, he is soon poised to be a success. What starts out as a dream job gradually turns into conscientious nightmare as he struggles to find moral sanctuary in his assignments, discovering in due time why only the brightest young minds are absolutely handpicked to join WAIT.
