He was adored for his beauty and feared for his cruelty. Then he was cursed. Exiled to the bell tower of Saint-Sulpice, Édouard Valmont becomes a monster in the eyes of the city. Merely an unseen voice behind the ringing bells. But when a traveling performer named Lysander discovers the man beneath the deformity, something begins to awaken inside Édouard: a longing he has never known. Yet the cathedral hides more than stone and prayer. And when a powerful church official's obsession turns into a threat, Édouard must confront the darkest truth of all: redemption may require a price he cannot pay. A gothic tragedy of love, vanity, and the unbearable weight of becoming worthy.

Across the cold distances between stars, humanity spreads through the galaxy as the Sons of Supreme, warrior pilgrims in cathedral ships who believe God made them in His image and gave them the universe as their inheritance. Alien species watch in horror as these faithful conquerors advance not with weapons alone, but with hymns that shatter minds and certainty that burns away doubt like fire. From the perspective of beings made of questions, memory, and fear, humanity is not just dangerous but spiritually overwhelming, creatures whose absolute belief in their divine purpose makes them unstoppable. As humans claim system after system, the aliens must face a terrifying truth: they are not fighting an empire or an invasion, but a species that believes it is simply coming home to what was always meant to be theirs. In the darkness between worlds, the galaxy learns to fear not the weapons of mankind, but the hymns they sing while advancing toward their inheritance.

"Jace knew better than to make sure each limb was polished to a sheen, each hair was tucked in place. He knew better than to move their hands gingerly, than to sing to them softly. For these writhing beings could not be deemed human. And the Wrinkled Ones loomed above, watching. Waiting, with their viridian-colored noggins tilted to the side. Jace believed the Wrinkled Ones to be omniscient." The Wrinkled Ones loom over all in this artificial world. A world Moth phases through without connecting with anyone else. They consider it an unalterable fact of their inhumanness, but perhaps Moth's increasingly high dose of fear they inject into themself, one indicative of some dormant humanness.

These are a couple short stories. A desert one, a school one, a murder mystery one, a homelessness one, a cathedral one and a volcano one. They all vary in size some are only one paragraph, others are an average chapter length but they are all short stories. I own all the characters but most of the stories don't really have characters. Also, to note people die in most of them so if your not okay with that don't read thankyou! Enjoy xx Charlotte

In the town of Little Creek, there resides a meager population of 679 people. There are two elementary schools, one public high school, two gas stations, and one street corner cafe that's the only place in town where you can order something that's double-fried and loaded with salt. There are three churches, something the adults of the town praise as an invaluable highlight and something most of the younger population heave a sigh at. In short, everything is painfully underwhelming and average. At least, it WAS average until an angel came hurtling through the stained-glass window of Saint Thomas's Cathedral on a Saturday evening. How do I know it's not some wack story that half-crazed 83-year-old Mrs. Henshore imagined as she was rolling her rosary beads between her fingers during service? Because I was there, and I know that everything I saw is true. I always thought angel visits to earth were supposed to be considered miracles; a sign of good will from the big man himself. I never thought it would unleash hell on earth.
