This is the heartfelt story of their first child. Lady Marie Colette Claude Leroux is only a small naive child of thirteen when she is sent to the court of King Henri II to act as a Maid-of-Honor to his wife Queen Catherine. She unwillingly catches the eye of a repelling man older then her father and pushed into a marriage to the man by the Queen herself. Colette spends five years of unhappiness until she is finally widowed at the still tender age of eighteen and childless. When she returns back to court she finds another thing waiting for her. Everything has changed; clothes has changed, dances has changed, and even kings have changed. While she catches more eyes with her maturing looks trouble arises when two men gain her attention.
