[Heartless Prequel] When the White King discovers that the Red Queendom intends to assassinate his only daughter, he trusts Jest to act as the princess' guard. The White Queen does not want her daughter to feel frightened, so she suggests Jest court the princess and attribute his proximity to her as affection rather than a means of protection (she's giddy to see them get along!). When Jest hesitates to agree to this arrangement, the White Queen makes this promise: if he marries Princess Lily, he can leave his Rook duties behind him. But what if the princess knew how to protect herself? Jest's mind races: with a new Queen, they could end the war. With the war over, he could live a life of ease... the life he's always wanted. And without having to marry a stranger. Jest's life may have ended in the land of Hearts, but this is his life as a Rook (and jester?) in Chess. !!!!! The story is finished, I just need to post all of the chapters now! New chapters will drop Tuesday and Friday. !!!!

The Story Hopeless takes place five years after Jest's death. Catherine - the Queen of Hearts - is loathed by everyone. Even the king is afraid of her, and they stay in different wings of the palace. But those are some one the least harmful problems in Wonderland. The war between the White and Red Queens of Chess has spread to dozens of other parts the realm. Without the Resilient Heart of the Queen of Hearts, the White Queen can get no leverage in the war. The Red Queen has heard about the heart's power, and also that it was lost a long time ago. She believes she can beat the White Queen. Hatta has gone completely insane, and Haiga and the Dormouse have become frightened of him. Minions of the Red Queen have infiltrated Hearts, searching for Catherine's weaknesses. But there is one person that could save them all. A Knight of the White Queen, determined to do anything to stop the war. One way or another, that Knight will help Catherine become good again. Even if someone in Wonderland becomes completely Hopeless.

In this sequel to Marissa Meyer's Heartless, Catherine Pinkerton, now the Queen of Hearts, has become a cold and angry person, not at all how she used to be. The young girl who loved to bake is gone and has been replaced by a heartless queen. But, what happens when she gets a second chance at love with her precious court joker?

(Spoilers if you haven't read Heartless) SHE HAD BEEN LIVING A LIE FOR FIFTEEN YEARS Catherine Pinkerton now rules over the Kingdom of Hearts. Time had taken away what she had once loved most but after a certain encounter with a girl by the name of Alice, Catherine realized this side of the Looking Glass had something different in store for her. Could what had been lost be brought back? After all, impossible was Jest's specialty. ||This is but a work of fanfiction written by me meaning it is not canon to the actual novel and most characters and setting rightfully belong to Marissa Meyer and Lewis Caroll||

Catherine gets a letter from Jest. She does not expect to find the contents within the letter. Impatiently, Jest waits for her reply and when they finally talk to each other, their friends keep on showing up and getting in their way. Aka, these two are in love and their friends see it. Jest is alive. He doesn't know how, or why, but he's alive. He stumbles upon a tea party. The host non other than the Mad Hatta. But attending was a field mouse, a March hare, a hound, a black raven, and a girl. She had hair, that almost looked black, green eyes, a red heart painted on her cheek and a golden crown set atop her head. ❤️ Catherine hasn't married the king, and she now lives with Hatta. A Fanfiction Continuation of Heartless by Marissa Meyer

It had been two years ago when Cath's changed forever, when she fell in love with a jester and believed in the impossible, until she was pulled back into the cruel reality, and became the infamous Queen of Hearts. Now, she has a dream of the Sisters giving her another chance to end her story differently, and get the happily ever after she's always wanted. But how is that possible? Well as it seems, Fate has a way of surprising us in the most unlikely of ways. =========================================== Disclaimer: This is a fan made sequel to Marissa Meyer's Heartless, so, if you plan on reading this, know that you'll obviously have to have read Heartless to get what happened. Also note this story was made because of how upset I was with the ending of Heartless, and I didn't find what I wanted in other fan fictions, so I made my own. Please excuse if the characters are inaccurate, I'm not the best writer out there, so if you have some constructive criticism for me, don't hesitate to tell me. Sequel to Heartless by Marissa Meyer - because NO WAY am I accepting that ending!!! *muffled sobbing* In Wonderland, nothing is set in stone. The dead can come back to life, the heartless can be given hearts, and the impossible is possible. Or so they say. What would have happened if Cath Pinkerton never went back for Mary Ann? Would Jest and Cath truly live a happy life together? This takes place 2 years after Heartless by Marissa Meyer, with an alternate ending.

She waited for several seconds before she felt the figure leaning in, bringing their lips close to her ear. Catherine held in a breath and felt every muscle in her body tense. "Hi, Cath." Or Nine years later, after she became the Queen of Hearts, Catherine Pinkerton has been having strange dreams recently.

After the attack at the theatre, in a reality where Jest was not accused of kidnapping Lady Pinkerton after returning from the treacle well, still as the court joker, Catherine is invited to a royal feast with most of Hearts nobility. Cath still has trouble trying to convince everyone about the future proposal from the King, and that she refuses to accept. But, is it possible her parents will realize that this is not her path, that she refuses to let this become her fate? [This story is my personal alternative ending to Heartless and a different plot from when this story starts. An AU of sorts. ALL CHARACTERS AND RIGHTS BELONG TO MARISSA MEYER.]

What if Cath had taken the Sisters' prophecy more seriously? What if she went through the Looking Glass and refused to think of Mary Ann, the King, or her parents again? Another "Heartless" re-write where the Sisters prophecy does come true, but not in the way you think. Jest has died, but The Sisters didn't take Catherine's heart from her. She is now Queen, but will she give that up once she learns that Jest is back?! You will find out by reading...
