But as a CSI and criminalist in the Las Vegas Crime Lab, specialising in bloodstain pattern analysis and having certified combat experience, she's dangerous in her own right, and she feels that the lab is her family that she trusts. Especially her close friend and work partner, Nick Stokes, whom she would trust with her life more than anyone. However, as Mia starts to realise that she and Nick are venturing into "more than partners" territory with their bond, especially in their line of work and all the complications involved, Mia's unsure if she should use her walls to lock Nick out or let him in and see all of her: the good, the bad and the ugly, or she thinks he'll leave her like everyone else she's ever trusted in her life to survive on her own.
