Mia Langley doesn't do feelings, or rather, she compartmentalises them and lets things pile on and stay tough in the face of pain or danger with emotional walls. However, as Mia starts to realise that she and Nick are venturing into "more than partners" territory with their bond, especially in their line of work and all the complications involved, Mia's unsure if she should use her walls to lock Nick out or let him in and see all of her: the good, the bad and the ugly, or she thinks he'll leave her like everyone else she's ever trusted in her life to survive on her own.
