Catherine lost her heart years ago to the sisters of the well and hasn't thought of the Looking Glass since. Her life as queen was full of hatred and resentment for the kingdom that took everything from her and the life she decided she never deserved. She and Raven have ruled the kingdom making it the opposite of what it was before, turning it into the most unhappy place on this planet, but Time has something else in store. Not only that, but the former Red Kingdom has turned to blackness and the war with the White Kingdom rages on more brutal than ever. What if Catherine was able to regain her heart and end the war? And what if she could save her beloved Jest? My continuation of Marissa Meyer's standalone novel Heartless, I decided to change the ending for all of us. We can't all be heartless.

Do you wish Marissa Meyer's Heartless had a happily ever after? This story takes place years after Jest's death. Catherine hosts a black and white ball. Hatta brings a familiar man with lemon tart eyes. "How are you-" "I don't know. . .I don't know."

When Cath went through the Looking Glass, she had prepared herself for a life in Chess with Jest. What she didn't expect was to end up on a farm in small town Rieux, France, a place as far from Chess or Hearts as she could possibly be. But while Cath and her friends adjust quickly and happily to their new lives, someone from Cath's past has followed them through the Looking Glass - someone who wants revenge. With the Rampion Crew and her friends from Wonderland by her side, Cath has to try to stop a war from starting, a war which she would find herself in the center of. He would leave his own heart, buried six feet bellow with the woman he loved. But then three girls showed up, and offered him a deal he could not refuse. Jest is alive. He doesn't know how, or why, but he's alive. He stumbles upon a tea party. The host non other than the Mad Hatta. But attending was a field mouse, a March hare, a hound, a black raven, and a girl. She had hair, that almost looked black, green eyes, a red heart painted on her cheek and a golden crown set atop her head. ❤️ Catherine hasn't married the king, and she now lives with Hatta.
