When Sikowitz unexpectedly inherits an old castle in the hills of Transylvania, he wastes no time dragging his students along for what he proudly calls an "authentic cultural experience." To Tori and her friends-Andre, Beck, Jade, Cat, Robbie, and Rex-the place feels less like a cultural trip and more like the beginning of a ghost story.
While exploring the sprawling, half-forgotten rooms, the group uncovers a sealed chamber hidden behind a worn old bookshelf. Inside, Tori accidentally steps into the remains of a shattered vial filled with a strange, liquid substance. Soon afterward, unsettling changes begin to appear. Her senses sharpen. Her appetite shifts toward strange cravings. And a bold, magnetic confidence takes hold of her that leaves her friends both impressed and worried.
As the others scramble to figure out what's happening, their investigation pulls them into the castle's tangled history. Old records and wary villagers speak of a noble family who once guarded the estate-and of secrets they swore to protect. At the same time, rumors surface that someone nearby has been waiting for the lost heir to resurface, hoping to claim their inheritance for their own suspicious ambitions.
With Tori's transformation becoming harder to hide and the tension around the castle steadily building, the group must work together to uncover the truth behind the legends, defend Sikowitz's unexpected inheritance, and keep their friend grounded before whatever's happening to her goes too far.
Yet the deeper they dig, the less certain everything becomes. Is something supernatural really unfolding within the castle walls... or are isolation, old folklore, and Sikowitz's questionable supply of coconut juice playing tricks on all of them?
Either way, they've got to stick together and see it through-even if none of them can quite tell where the legend ends, and reality begins.
