The Cat King and Edwin have been seeing each other for awhile now. They've gone through trials and difficulties and have declared their love for each other. But relationships are still new to Edwin. When a handsome friend of Cat's comes to town, Edwin can't contain his jealousy. It doesn't help that Charles and Monty have recently started a relationship. --- This is a two-part story that follows in the continuity of Cat and Ghost and Through a Mirror, Darkly. You don't need to have read either of those stories to read this, though!

What if Charles was too late?

After an accident on a case, the Cat King is split into each of his five lives: Tabby, Brown, Orange, Black and White. The Agency must find a way to put him back together again, while also tracking down a sorcerer who has been slicing ghosts from their spectral energy. --- This fic follows in my Catwin continuity, but you can read it as a standalone! What's important is that Edwin and Cat have been together nearly a year, Charles and Monty are dating, and Niko is the Night Nurse's assistant in Lost and Found. Cat has also died once and been reincarnated as a white cat. It's been a few months since Edwin, Charles and Crystal left Port Townsend after the death of their friend Niko. They've done their best to move on. In the meantime, they've matched wits with Desire of the Endless, and Edwin has started dating the Cat King. A few months after their return from Port Townsend, the Cat King shows back up in Edwin's life. He's bent on courting Edwin, and has somehow acquired a magical collar that allows them to properly feel each other. Edwin meets him in secret, unsure of whether he's ready to tell Charles about the relationship. In the meantime, business at the Dead Boy Detective Agency continues. They receive a case where a woman is trapped between life and death, tethered between the mortal realm and the beyond by a cursed sorcerer. But there may be more going on than meets the eye, and an Endless pulling the strings from the shadows...
