The world governments sought to harness the powers that lied within The Island, sparking a bloody war among numerous global powers and The Island's inhabitants. The war ended in a stalemate; The Island's population was massacred to near extinction while The Surface's powers had lost all control over their people. Years later, an amnesiac robot named Soldier lives as a farm hand deep underground. One day, Soldier's programming drives him to abandon his family to finish his mission.
