Basically, Jasper didn't die in the cave. He was injured, but got far enough out of the cave in time not to be crushed by the debris. He left camp after that on a bad note with David, so pretty much what David thought happened ;~; poor bb.

After one faithful night, Max discovered Jasper while exploring a mysterious noise across the lake from Spooky Island. However, upon exiting the island, a certain demon follows him off. When a ghost possesses someone, there seems to be no difference physically. Sure, the infiltrated body may seem like a different character, but there's nothing to see. But as time goes on, things start changing. Slowly, but surely. First, it may be their hair being slightly lighter or fluffier. Then, their eye color seems unfamiliar.
