With everyone finally getting over the devastation of the Great Fairy War and the loss of their friends, Lucy has been hesitant to tell them that she must leave. Aquarius her first celestial spirit friend that she had to sacrifice for the guild's sake some years ago has finally been granted a new key. With the search possibly taking years how can she tell them that they may lose her too. Making the hard choice, Lucy sets out on the journey to find her lost spirit: with monsters, dark guilds, and the resident bad guy in attendance she has her work cut out for her. Meeting up with old friends and new enemies along the way Lucy must prove herself worthy and strong enough to once more own the last Zodiac key. When you throw in a surprising love interest of a grumpy dragonslayer on a path to self-destruction you get a recipe that might mend more than one broken heart. Lucy is strong in her own right exactly as she is and I'm tired of people thinking all she's accomplished over the years isn't worth anything.
