Discust Daniel looked below his eyes. He sat beside Mary, with a bloody leg and a hole in his shirt. His father walked down to the boys level. Quietly, he spoke. "Did Mary break this?" Daniel looked down to the glass toy piano, shattered in his knees. Nothing. "Daniel, please answer me," He waited. Daniel nodded. "Damn child, leave this house." Daniels fingernails pressed into his eyes, digging his graves, removing the noise. He bit his cheeks, blood pouring into his lungs, a copper taste in his tongue. Quivering. "I swear, I'll cut you." His words hushed, setting the boy at a twisted comfort, as twisted as the body's entanglements. He shook with rage, attempting to refrain. "I swear to Hell I'll cut you!" He screamed, not an inch did he break. The sobbing broke. "Did Mary break the vase?" He spat. "I told you, she-" Daniel tried to interject. "I suppose that Mary killed Ms.Hayden's cat too?" Daniel covered his eyes, sobbing. "No, daddy," he choked the words out of him. "That wasn't Mary..." "Did Mary murder the damn cat?" He screamed. The boy cried louder. "No," was all that he managed to force from his lips, his words stained in red. His father stood from his knees. "Who do you suppose it was, then?" He towered above. "Daniel. Look me in the eyes." Daniel looked. He stared into those bloodshot, tired, criminal eyes, but I can tell you this. Those were not the eyes of a man. "Tell me who killed the cat, Daniel." Mockery in his voice. "It was Jacob." He quivered, "it was Jacob..." He slapped his son, hitting him onto the ground. He knelt above him, grabbed the shattered glass toy piano, smearing the shards into Daniels cheek. A fist formed around the sharpness, blood of his own falling to the floor. Daniel screamed. His father screamed. The screaming had begun.
