Home for the summer from college, Monse Finnie is forced to confront the past she tried so hard to run away from at school: Her first love, her old friends, a father constantly stressed over trying to protect his daughter from the dangers of their inner-city neighborhood. But things are different now that they are grown-up, especially as her ex-boyfriend Cesar is now the leader of the Santos.
