Atwater Woods is home to hundreds of different anthropomorphic animal clans who have an abundance of technology available to them. Sparked by a group of common rats being abducted, a chain of events leads to a war between the clans in Atwater Woods and its three surrounding forests. A silver-haired rat named Alfie, who has a disposition for recklessness, falls prey to the blooming war, but becomes involved when his clan is repeatedly targeted by larger beasts. His pregnant wife Cheshire, a more responsible and logical version of her husband, wants Alfie to survive to see their babe born though would rather help him fight than remain on the sidelines as a bystander. The destitute cat clan is desperate for food whereupon the loyal Russian Blue cat Amos is relied on to provide for his faction; Amos hoping to end their hunger by offering up Alfie's clan. A violent king snake called King wants nothing more than to kill others to show his prowess in murder, but finds himself a prisoner of the infamous bat clan of High Peak Mountain. This bat clan hopes to spread their dominance over Atwater Woods while systematically enslaving other creatures including the crow Korvus and a bat known as Batskins. Meanwhile, there is a creature who can shape-shift into anything that it kills and therefore blend in though no one seems to know who or what it is.

I know I'm lying broken in a hospital, hours from death, but my reality is horrifyingly worse. When you're lost in a dream where half the population wants a piece of you, the other half wants you dead, and you keep being pursued by a shadow man and a specter, death can sound like a pretty sweet deal. Brothers I've never had and two unexpected friends help me in a quest to go home and away from a malevolent darkness shaped in a circle stone.

The metamorphosis, or changeling poem was created by me, a couple of years ago. It consists of six lines with six words in each line using three couplets. The last word in the first line of each of the three couplets must be a changeling word meaning it can become a new word when the first letter is removed. For example; tread becomes read.

Flurry Heart is now a teenager and meets a changeling in the forest. Flurry Heart then falls in love with this Changeling named Thorax. She knows if her dad finds out she will be in trouble with him forever...

"One more story!" One of the children around Xilra begged with the well known puppy dog face that all the other children mimicked immediately. "What? Another? Isn't it past y'all's bed time?" Xilra hmmm looking at where the sun was still very high in the sky no where near sunset." Oh fine but what tale or you wishing to hear? I must say I believe I'm running dry of exciting tales." Or at least ones she could lie and make exciting after all tell a child the truth especially on theses stories would get her In trouble with both parents and her goddess. "What about your family? Do you have a sibling?" A little girl asks laying on her belly kicking her legs excitedly. "Hmm well you've met my family already." Xilra hums. "Nooo like your biological family, your mom and dad?"the child argued, then remembered the tale she had just told." Didn't you just mention a brother?" Xilra flinched; she hadn't thought that would of been anything important that they'd recall."well I guess we have time for one more story..." Xilra signs she would tell them the true story. No there much to young for that but maybe this will heed them a warning to be careful with strangers.
