A Chaos Walking Fan Fiction (Todd Hewitt x OC) Welcome to New World. A place full of Noise, Noise and more Noise. It's a stinky, nasty, unruly place to live, and livin' knowin' everyone's thoughts all day, every day makes things even more horribly unbearable. Every thought is sent out into the world, and once it's out there, it's in everyone else's Noise. That's how things get spread around here, if something exciting or a secret happens, everyone knows. Everyone. There's no secrets anymore. I live in Pressistown, Ben and Cillian are my so called "parents," well, they took me in. They're packing... Why? Why now?... So many people killing themselves... They're going crazy. This Noise is stuck inside their heads, reminding them of the past. They just couldn't take it. I don't think I can anymore. I need to escape... But how can you escape when everyone can hear your every thought?

This is an interpretation of the knife of never letting go by----. Todd Hewitt is the only boy left in Prentisstown, a small settlement on 'New World'--an alien planet only recently colonized by humanity. Todd is within days of his thirteenth birthday, the age in Prentisstown at which all boys "become men." Todd has been told that all the women and nearly all the men on New World were killed in a war with the Spackle that occurred around the time of his birth. The Spackle are New World's native inhabitant and are blamed for the release of the "germ" that caused the majority of deaths and was particularly fatal to females. The inhabitants of Prentisstown claim that every Spackle was wiped out during the war and Todd has no reason to believe otherwise. As a side effect of the virus, the remaining men in Prentisstown can hear each other's (and animals') thoughts, described as an ever-present cascade of 'Noise'.

⚠️TAKES PLACE AFTER MONSTERS OF MEN⚠️ *spoilers* I'm obsessed with the Chaos Walking Trilogy and it is by far the best book series I've ever read. Finishing it has left me completely shocked at how artful it is, and it's left me wanting more. I love writing so I've taken to writing a 4th part about after Todd wakes up. Enjoy!!
