My friends always ask me, "Tom, have you ever written a book of poetry? It seems that you include poetry in almost all of your books?" I have never been able to satisfactorily answer that query. I have loved poetry all my life, but never considered myself a poet. I have been fortunate to publish over thirty poems in Art Journals and Magazines. Never more than three at a time. I don't know if my stuff is good enough for an entire chapbook of poems. But- let's give it a try and see how it is received!

A reflective tale of self-growth that connects the reader to a deeper sense of self.

My first chapbook is full of things dark and strange. These 24 poems and flash pieces work to demonstrate the loss of innocence to the dark forces surrounding us. The reader is invited on a journey through childhood nostalgia, teenage awkwardness, and unhealthy romances twisted by the powers of magical realism. Monsters will appear, the inanimate will come to life, and all will get lost in the murkiness between real and imaginary. Poems will be added once (sometimes twice) a day until October 28th. "Corrupted Minds" is Michigan author Sarah A. Kenney's third chapbook released on Amazon! After receiving another rejection letter from her tenth magazine submission, Sarah had been longing to create a third chapbook and decided this was the perfect opportunity to compile her poems and short stories for her third chapbook, "Corrupted Minds." Writing poetry and short stories based on her anxiety caused from a rare illness and constant hospital stays comes a chapbook of both dark, political and observational views from the mind of a hospital patient.

Mostly poems involving God's creation with some moments of realization. Poetry for me is a release but it's also how I capture those everyday moments when a picture just won't do it justice. Allow the words to paint a picture in your mind.

I wrote these poems in my Intermediate Poetry Workshop class for a chapbook project that spanned the entire semester. The common theme I chose was Zodiac and Astrology, alongside my own confessions to people in my life both real and hypothetical.
