Inspired by The Next Prince. Every guard is assigned at birth according to an ancient tradition. The King refuses to change assignments because doing so would insult the royal ancestors. The problem? Charan and Khanin have an immediate connection that neither expected. Meanwhile, Paytai and Ramil still share a history, making everything even messier. Now Khanin and Ramil have a common goal: to convince the King to allow a reassignment before the Royal Competition begins. But changing centuries of tradition isn't easy, and if anyone discovers why they want the guards switched, it could destroy both princes' reputations. That raises the stakes beyond "I want a different guard."

Khanin has spent his entire life hidden from the world. A college student and gifted fencer, he tries to live normally despite always feeling... different. His omega scent is unusually rare-something his mother forced him to suppress for years without explanation. He never understood why strangers seemed drawn to him or why danger always followed too closely. Then Charan enters his life. Cold, controlled, and dangerously protective, Charan arrives at Khanin's university under the guise of royal security tied to the national fencing tournament. To everyone else, he's simply a high-ranking royal guard assigned to oversee the event. But Charan's true duty is far more important: Protect the kingdom's hidden heir. Because Khanin is not just an omega. He's a royal omega descended from the original bloodline-a rarity believed to have disappeared generations ago. Omegas like him are said to strengthen royal bonds, stabilize alpha instincts, and carry the legitimacy of the crown itself. If the palace discovers Khanin is alive before Charan can protect him, he could become nothing more than a political weapon. Khanin has no idea who he really is. And Charan intends to keep it that way for as long as possible. But protecting Khanin becomes harder when the omega prince starts looking at him with trust... and when Charan's alpha instincts begin slipping out around the one person he can never have. Because a royal guard should never fall for the heir he was sworn to protect.

You may know the How It Should Have Ended - series on Youtube. It has alternate endings to popular movies, done in cartoons. They are quite lighthearted takes on what could - or should - have happened in those movies. These fics are not like that. They're born of rage. Series that went so badly astray that the resulting fanbase anger could smelt iron. I'm not talking about faithfulness to source material, at least not just that. Sometimes changes improve the source material. I'm talking about utter disservice to the characters by way of idiotic character decisions, dull plots, and the most intriguing characters left with barely 10 min of screen time in total. The actors are blameless in these wrecks. Indeed, I'm only this mad because I love the actors so much and think that they deserved better than what they got. These will be short fics, 1-2 chapters only, with no character introductions or background information. If you haven't seen these shows, the stories will make no sense to you. If you have seen the shows and loved them, these stories will make you mad. Choose accordingly. Image: https://www.reddit.com/r/AO3/comments/zk8dmr/i_mean_fixit_fic_are_cool_but_doesnt_it_hurt_so/
