After getting Polly back from Boston, Amy Meriwether had since become a part of the crew. Polly was a very special bird. She was a dodo, and she was supposed to be extinct. But what if Polly wasn't the only previously thought extinct creature? What if there were dinosaurs that were also alive and well, and living on a remote island in the middle of nowhere? The Captain had a feeling his scientist friend would think that, so he enlisted the help of Amelia Meriwether, a brash and tempermental young woman from Boston. At first, Charles and Amelia don't exactly see eye to eye, and try to find Polly their own way, but after getting each other out of a few sticky situations, the two unlikely friends form a bond.
