Also, I don't do CharleyxBarley or any other shipping, only x reader. This is my first time writing Oneshots so please don't be too harsh and feel free to request. I decided to do this because I feel as if the Butcher Gang doesn't get much love.

A weapon to be used against, or an entity to draw strength from. Love comes in so many variations. Platonic love, romanic love, obsessive love. True love. This story is a love story, yes, but a love that has been dragged through barbed wire, shot at, stabbed multiple times. Blown apart. So much hurt, so much anger, so much hate. The intensity of hate that can only be found in the aftermaths of a tarnished love. Two people, who loved each other wholly, with their mind, body and soul. They thought their love could over come anything the world hurled at them. Come high or low, they would survive. Because they loved each other. Such young people, such naive people. This story is a love story, yes, but it isn’t a typical love story. There was no instant attraction, not love at first sight. It was mistrust. Enemies they were and trust a fragile thing, yet they built it, slow and steady. Laughing and sharing stories, smiling and touching. Falling. Daring to dream of a world where they weren’t enemies. Where they could express their love freely. Where they could live in peace. Vowing to never part, to never hurt one another. Them against the world. They couldn’t see the future, couldn’t see that their once proclaimed love was nothing but that, a proclamation. They couldn’t see that their greatest hurt came from one another. That they had used their love for one another to destroy. Their trust broken, their hearts shattered. Though there are many kinds of love, true love is what survives, what prevails. So rare, people believe it doesn’t exist. But these two are living proof that it does.

A little female squirrel by the name of Sunny runs away from home because she cannot stand the other animals in her neighborhood making fun of her for having crazy telekinetic powers. When she moves into a town called SillyVille, she comes across a chimp named Charley, an old sailor named Barley, and a six legged spider named Edgar and they were known as a trio called the Butcher Gang. Seeing them made Sunny move in with them, however Charley (The leader of the Butcher Gang) isn't too fond of the female squirrel living with them. Sidenote: I didn't have any other BATIM or BATDR fanfics in mind so I decided to do a remake of the first story that I made back in 2020. I'm making this remake because I thought that the original didn't make any sense. For those who are wondering if Carley/Slicer will be in this story, the answer is "NO". There are two reasons why I won't add Carley/Slicer in this fanfic: 1. There's not much information about the fourth member in the BATIM & BATDR wiki that makes me feel the need to add her in the story (Other then she's a ghost girl that seems rude & snarky). 2. I find Carley/Slicer to be very annoying & irritating in BATDR. The reason for that is because if the player opens Slicer's coffin or crate, she constantly pops out of nowhere & jumpscares the player from time to time almost throughout the gameplay. I know Carley/Slicer is a ghost girl, but I just find it pretty annoying how her main role in the game is that she has to continuously scare & run at the player nearly throughout the game. That's why when I decide to play BATDR, I'm not gonna open up Carley's coffin/crate in order to avoid dealing with her. He is also the star of many different audio dramas produced by Big Finish, with companions like Charley and Lucie. There is also a book series called the Eighth Doctor Adventures (often shortened to EDAs by fans), which is a 73-Book series of original novels published by the BBC from 1997-2004. Some of my favorite Doctor Who stories ever come from the EDAs, so I highly recommend reading them. The Eighth Doctor has more companions than probably any other incarnation ever. I am sticking with some of the more well-known ones for the sake of familiarity - and even some of these companions are obscure! I also have him with companions from Classic Who. Some of the things to remember, if you personally don't know much about Eight: - The writers give him amnesia whenever they get bored. He spent over a hundred years on earth with amnesia. (See EDAs The Ancestor Cell through Escape Velocity). - He has severe claustrophobia (see EDA Seeing I by Kate Orman and Jonathan Blum). - Most of his companions fall in love with him at some point. (Notable exceptions include Compassion and Anji, both companions in the EDAs. Compassion is asexual and Anji isn't interested). - He is a very physical incarnation. He kisses people when he's excited and has definitely slept around a bit. He's also okay with getting naked every so often. (For examples of all these, see the TV movie, as well as EDAs: Dominion, Unnatural History, Autumn Mist, and Mad Dogs and Englishmen). - He can be absolutely terrifying sometimes (see Audio Zagreus and Scherzo and EDAs Endgame and The Book of the Still).
