Lt. Pete 'Maverick' Mitchell was living his dream, up until SHIELD found out about his piloting skills and decided to recruit him. She's made a vow to never get involved with anyone at work - this only becomes more enforced after a young pilot's death, however, that's after she meets and gets to know Tom Kazansky.
