Clothes lay on the floor, long disregarded from the night prior. Callie Torres, laid down and faced towards the window lay wide awake, eyes practically bulging out of her head. She knew that when she turned around she'd see a naked intern laying in bed next to her. A naked intern who wasn't her husband. A naked intern who wasn't a guy period. She knew that when she turned around, she'd be meet with Evelyn Yang- the woman who would eventually change her life forever. STARTED 7/10/22

Honestly, I've just had constant thoughts about growing swirling around in my mind, so I wrote a short story based on one of my favorite childhood songs. I wasn't planning on writing anything until I finished "We'll Carry On" (#spon) but this was stuck in my head and I had to write it down. It really isn't about much. Once upon a time there was a girl, she hated her life most of the time. She hated her school and a lot of people. She was socially awkward, didn't fit in and really didn't have a lot of friends. She sat alone at lunch. Then one day her adoptive parents said they were moving to California. When the day came for her first day at Jackson highschool, she had no idea that her life was going to change completely. Violet Greene is her name and this her story.

Inspired by the song Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol. All Donnie Taylor-Chavez wants is to catch up to the chaos of life; Pass high school tests, have enough money to sustain herself, apply for every scholarship, and eventually relax and enjoy life as it comes. But no matter how fast she runs to grasp enough time to take a breath, she never seems to be fast enough. Her head is spinning with a million concepts, times, and places to remember, and on top of that, her somewhat large family is a constant recipe for whirlwinds. But there's one person in her life that understands this like no other, more than willing to remind her of the beauty in the chaos, and to simply enjoy a moment of peace with. They're the anchors that keep each other afloat. "Those three words are said too much. They're not enough."

It doesn't matter whether the stories you read are true or not. Because somewhere, somehow, someplace, at some time, they happened. Word to word. Emotion to emotion. Place to place. This one did too. Or perhaps, it didn't. I'll leave it up to you to decide.
