A fan fiction written by myself in the world of Sky: Children of light. Note: During the prologue I use they/them pronouns for Kuro, which will later change to he/him pronouns. No one should ever feel like they don't have choice or that they have to settle for less than they deserve. Alina Pierce did that. She met Blake Scott. He was stunning and charming and he took her breathe away. Alina dove head first into a relationship with him. She thought she was lucky, and so what if he yelled every once in a while. Nobody's perfect, right? She was convinced she could change him, help him see that she loved him, but she was wrong. Alina had to learn the hard way that you can't be in a healthy relationship with someone who abuses you or your relationship. So, she does the only thing she can think to do. She runs, from Blake, and from everything she believed was true. Now, she has to find her own way back. She thought she had to do it alone. She was never expecting a man named Kit Jennings to help her. Can Alina push through these heavy obstacles and find herself again? Not the person she was with Blake, but her true self? Will Kit be able to put aside his doubts and insecurities and finally stand up for himself? Alina and Kit have a lot of hard truths to work through and they're going to need each other to face it all.
