Even if it seems ridiculous, she can't shake the feeling that maybe she should check. Slowly, she gets up and walks to the window, her heart pounding as she pulls back the curtain to look outside. Her eyes widen and her breath catches in her throat when she sees a figure standing in the shadows, holding a phone. The figure shifts, and she sees a faint grin on their face, lit up by the glow of the phone screen. A chill runs down her spine.
