Prologue
"I give up on us... on you... and on this marriage."
I looked directly into his eyes, tears threatening to spill. The pain on Eriot's face was unmistakable, but it was too late.
I reached for Amani's hand and held it tightly.
"You gave me so much... and yet you took so much away from me. My only crime was loving you, and for that... I'm sorry."
My voice trembled under the weight of years of heartbreak.
Stepping closer, I looked him in the eyes one last time.
"Andy didn't destroy you," I said quietly. "You made the choice to let yourself be destroyed."
For a long moment, neither of us spoke.
Without looking back, I whispered in a broken voice,
"Goodbye, Eriot."
I walked away with Amani by my side. As we drove out through the gates, I caught one last glimpse of him in the rearview mirror, standing motionless on the doorstep, watching us leave.
"It's over," I whispered to myself.
What happens when a marriage loses its spark?
When love is tested by betrayal, silence, and the choices we make, can it ever find its way back?
