At just 25 years old, Nathan Luke has lived a full life-too full, too fast. A former JV baseball pitcher turned dedicated NYPD Grand Larceny Detective, Nathan is accustomed to solving puzzles and chasing down criminals. But he is currently losing the only fight that matters: a stage 4 lung cancer diagnosis that has given him a terminal timeline. Two years post-divorce, Nathan's world revolves around his 5-year-old son, Milo. Nathan is desperate to reconnect with him, wanting to make the most of the limited time he has left, yet he is battling the agonizing gap that time and separation have created. Compounding his pain is his ex-wife, 24-year-old Ella Luke, who has moved on with 23-year-old Victor Roy. Nathan is forced to navigate his relationship with Ella and accept Victor's presence in Milo's life while simultaneously trying to build lasting memories with his son before it is too late. UPDATED ONCE PER WEEK, SO BE SURE TO CHECK BACK This is my life. It might seem a bit dramatic to be so; but it is the truth. I have gone through some ordeals throughout my relatively short life span. There is a beginning and a middle. Although, as far as I know, there is no end that is soon to come. WARNING: Box of tissues may be required for both laughter and what I like to call "real tears".

Except that she was a lesbian. And then was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. (I know there are a LOT more cancers out there but for this story it'll be thyroid cancer)

"You have Leukemia. It's a type of cancer. With the right treatments, we might be able to rid your body of it. The success rate in children your age is around 76 percent. We did catch it pretty late though." The doctor said. I swallowed. I felt a tear slip down my face. Then rage filled me. I jumped up and hit the doctor in chest, not enough to hurt, just enough to get the feelings out. The tears were flowing freely now. I kicked the examination table and the other chairs in the room, I threw papers from the desk onto the floor, and finally I threw the door open and ran through the hallways, knowing my mother and the doctor were chasing after me. I turned a corner and ran into the lobby. A few people stared at me, and I ran outside, not caring where I was headed. I just had to escape this. But the harsh reality was that I couldn't escape it. I was dying.
