Lucy Chen's first day back on day shift should be simple-except Tim Bradford is now Watch Commander. Determined to keep things professional, Tim spends the entire shift assigning Lucy anywhere but near him. Lucy, meanwhile, is completely unconvinced. After a day of suspicious assignments, stolen glances, and way too much unresolved tension, she corners him in his office and finally gets the truth: Tim missed having her around more than he wants to admit.

Tim has just joined the mid-wilshire police station at 18 years old. Both Lucy and Tim never had good relationships with their parents and lived in a separate lives. Lucy was basically fed her future while Tim was neglected and abused by his father. He still occasionally saw his mother and sister genny occasionally. when they meet at a bar and things get messy....Lucy ends up with defective birth Control and a positive pregnancy test.
