1. Lighthouse
The Ochanthuruthu lighthouse is 46-meters in height. Feel on top of the world as you and your significant other climb up to the observation platform in the lighthouse's tower and take in the gorgeous view of the surrounding areas.
2. Lake Poyil
A delight for everyone during family vacations, Lake Poyil is located where the sea and Cherai backwaters meet. Here you may go on a boat ride or hire a pedal boat as you lazily glide through the glass-like water surface.
3. Breakwater Point
Witness the spectacular sunset Cherai has to offer at the Breakwater Point. Children will be delighted watching the locals in their traditional canoes and colorful boats. Do spend a night in one of the houseboats here while on your family vacations.
4. Vypeen Island
Vypeen Island was formed in 1341 due to heavy floods. Introduce your kids to the rich history of this island. The 16th Century remnants of Portuguese rule can still be found here. They also built the Pallipuram Fort, which is one of the island's major attractions.
5. Mar Thomas Pontifical Shrine
The Mar Thomas Pontifical Shrine is dedicated to the Saint Thomas. It is a beautiful structure built in blue and white. The main highlight of this church is the right arm of St. Thomas. It is enclosed in a glass case and is open for display to the public from time to time.
