Now, you're probably thinking this is going to be some heart-warming story about a girl and a cowboy. Or maybe a story about a girl/boy who rescues a horse. This is neither of those things. Although it could be pretty emotional if you're THAT kind of person. This is a stor-sorry, no. Not a story. More like a dictionary, for all of those horse falls that just have to be documented. So don't expect any lovey-dovey stuff....well I guess it could be sad if someone got hurt in their fall...You know what. Just read this story/dictionary thing. This is one of the pieces I wrote for the wonderful writing group, the Inkslingers in May 2019. Richard the horse was an enormous chestnut hunter with four white socks and a white "wonky" blaze. He was an Irish draught crossed with a thoroughbred. He could go like the wind and jump anything in his path. He was a gentleman in all ways except one - he had no brakes. He died at the grand old age of 27 in 2005 and was cremated. His ashes are on Dunnet Head, the most northerly point of the UK mainland. I still have a cushion with his hair in it, embroidered by a friend.

This story is a little bit based me and my favorite horse that I have rode at my moms friend's house. The story "Quarter Horse" is all about a little girl (me) and a quarter horse named Clarence. We had a hundreds of years old chestnut tree at our schoolies in New Zealand that got chopped down and we had to make up a story about how it got chopped down. and mine involves an alicorn.
