Los Angeles, 2006.
Suki Campbell has never had a money problem in her life.
She has a Porsche, an unlimited credit card, a closet worth more than most people's rent, and a father rich enough to make consequences feel mostly optional.
Everything changes when she gets arrested.
By Monday morning, her credit cards are dead, her father is furious, and twenty-one years of financial dependency have come to a very abrupt end.
For the first time in her life, Suki needs a job, and money.
Preferably enough of both to maintain a lifestyle she has absolutely no intention of giving up.
As if that weren't offensive enough, Kai Lee is back in Los Angeles after almost two years in South Korea completing his military service.
Her childhood best friend, her first time, and the guy she stopped talking to for reasons she would rather not examine too closely.
Now Suki has to figure out how to survive without Daddy's credit card while avoiding the one person who knew her before the blonde hair, the tiny skirts, and the version of herself she worked very hard to become.
Unfortunately, Kai has never been particularly good at staying away from her.
She'll be fine.
Probably, right?
