Enya has recently lost her little brother. He fell down the stairs. You can die in much wilder ways. But you can also die in a completely ordinary way. You die just as much for that reason. Enya came home from school and saw David lying in the hallway. His head was strangely turned and blood was flowing out of his ear. It's the first time Enya has had to deal with something so violent. David's blood flowed in straight lines between the tiles, but the grief does not flow in straight lines for Enya. The grieving process is neither linear or logical.

This is a small novel I wrote a couple of years ago, but I've never shared it anywhere. So I thought I might aswell upload it here instead of just keeping it to myself, though I don't really expect anyone to read it.
The story is about loss, grief and death told in short chapters. Each small chapter shows Enya's grief in a new way, how her grief intertwines with her surroundings, and vice versa, and puts some of the difficult feelings into words.
The story isn't necessarily aimed at 'children who have experienced loss' either, although that's what it's about. I would say it's for everyone. You could say the story is an exploration of a child's grief, and you get an insight in grief from a child's point of view.
