The.The big moment came in game in 110th minute when Zidane was sent off by referee for an off ball incident of head-butting Italian defender Marco Materazzi. Hence.Hence he missed the shootout and France lost by 5-3.Now many of you who don't follow football would be wondering that he would have been criticized and booed by fans? But the reality is far different when French national team returned to France,Place de la Concorde in Paris was filled with 90,000 people who were chanting "Zizou!Zizou!" Later on it was revealed that Materazzi abused Zidane's sister.French daily Liberation stated "Since one month whole France was dreaming with Zidane".A poll stated 61% of french people forgave him after the match and rest 39% understood him.Famous french striker Theirry Henry quoted "In France, everybody realized that God exists, and that,he is back in the French international team".
