A 10-year-old girl named Maisie has always wished for adventure in her ordinary farming life. One day, after a family tragedy, she runs away, only to find that she has somehow been teleported to a new world, one in medieval times with magic and strange people and animals. Everything that she has always wanted is here, and she is sent on a quest to save this new world from danger.
