For one week every year, mermaids are allowed to walk the earth with humans. They look just like normal women, with added beauty, cunning and charm. They seem harmless enough, but once a man goes home with one of them, it's likely he will never been seen again. This week on land has one purpose and one purpose only for the mermaids: to replenish their food supply, which consists of the blood of human males. Falling in love with a human is forbidden. A young mermaid named Marina is just as excited as anyone else to find food, and quickly selects her target: Nick, a quiet guy who has a few secrets of his own. When both mermaids and human men are found dead, Nick and Marina must team up to solve the mysteries of the murders, and neither can deny the growing attraction between them.

But he hears the well known story of his town about a girl who would walk around the shores and rocks, but every time someone thought about getting close she would disappear off into the sea and when the searched the water she was nowhere to be seen. She was known as 'The Child of the Ocean'.
