Sister Bear actually hooks up with Too Tall and his gang, to give this new cub at school, a warm welcome. It's not exactly a warm welcome, when Sister Bear is told by Too Tall to push Amanda into a locker. Sister Bear gets in trouble and is grounded by Mama and Papa Bear. I do not own the Berenstain Bears or the characters. They belong to Stan and Jan Berenstain, even though they are both dead. I own Amanda, my OC.

As someone born and raised in the South Carolina Lowcountry, I've been surrounded by Gullah my whole life. But Gullah ain't just speech or stories-it's a way of life. It's in the food, the rituals, the rhythms of how we love, grieve, teach, and remember. Most folks my age probably got their first taste of Gullah through the Nickelodeon show Gullah Gullah Island. Ron and Natalie Daise offered a joyful and real glimpse into life on the South Carolina sea islands. Their work helped preserve something sacred. Now, it's my turn to carry that flame. Hear me out, everyone is born with potential beyond boundaries. I can say this, as I am a speech-language pathologist *flashes degree like a badge*. My recent deep dives into the marvel and mystery of the human brain and its ability to make connections based on experiences is simply that... a marvel. The thing is, as a pediatric SLP, I work with students who believe that because of their differences, their disorder, their diagnosis-- they aren't able to meet or exceed their potential. I tell you the truth when I say I've worked with most brilliant minds of children on the Autism Spectrum; perfect pitch, mathematical prodigys, recollection of a savant, the list goes on and this isn't the only population. So in turn, I created the "Why Not Me" animal series, because, why not you? Why should being a different size, having a brain difference, or speaking with different cadence preclude you from excellence. It doesn't!
