When a devastating incident destroys his hometown, the life of young Ajax is torn to pieces. Numb, traumatized, and with nowhere else to go, he joins a strange but kindhearted girl on her journeys throughout the land. As he slowly attempts to glue his life back together, he is overwhelmed by grief, and as if the universe hasn't already dealt him a poor enough hand, he has to navigate through this difficult time with a permanent curse to grapple with. At first, he handles it remarkably well, and the temporary period of stability allows him to pursue-and deepen-his feelings for his unlikely travel companion. Alas, time and nature are not on his side, and the threat of death looms perpetually over his head unless he finds a way to cope with the quality of his existence...lest it become his undoing.

Long ago, disaster struck Teyvat. The Abyss unleashed a devastating war on the Seven Nations, one that threatened to end the reign of humanity...and the divine. In an effort to protect their people, the gods signed a contract, one that would join the Seven Nations together into one single nation, Teyvat. They hoped that as one, unified country, Teyvat stood a better chance against the Abyss. However, as decades passed, the true meaning of the contract was forgotten. Systems were corrupted, and tyrants exploited the circumstances to abuse their power. Now rife with fear and cruelty, this is the world that the orphaned Lumine must navigate through. Another Genshin Impact fanfiction, only this one is a little different. Despite the title, this is not a Zhongli ship story. No Chili, Zhonglumi, Zhongguang, or any others...unless I decide to add that in later in the writing process. We'll see. If you know anything about me, you know that the main ship is Chilumi, because...yeah there is literally no valid reason I'm just obsessed, but I've found a pretty interesting way to integrate Childe into the story, so hopefully it won't be too redundant after my previous fic XD Cover art by yours truly :)

What happens when a zombie apocalypse breaks out across Teyvat? Where does it come from? And is there any hope in sight? Tartaglia doesn't know quite where it all began and certainly not where it ends. But he does know this is no accident or fluke of nature, and he'll seek out the truth if it kills him. For the hero of Teyvat, running into Childe after the start of a zombie outbreak wasn't in her plans. And she certainly had every intention to leave him in the dust as she continued her search for the gods and her brother. But he knows something. She can see it in his eyes and in the guilt that seems to linger like shadows on his very being. So when he asks her to travel with him to help him find his family before it's too late, how could she possibly deny him? She can't. Not when she knows there's more to his goal. Notes ~ Hello, I'm Phoenixwhirl, and I just wanted to say a few things about the story. First off, this is a slow-burn Chilumi fanfic and will contain no smut. Also, everything that happened before the beginning of this story is true to the game and may contain spoilers if you are not up to date on the archon quests or have yet to do Childe's story quest. As for the zombie part... Obviously, this is not true to the game. However, I will use game lore to tie it in as best I can. Also, there may be a bit of gore with the zombies, so if you don't like reading about gore and zombies, then you might want to check out one of the other fanfictions I haven't written.
