''Where the heart begins running before the body does.''
Some loves start loudly.
Theirs began with silence.
The track was empty, washed in early morning light, when Lin Yue stood at the starting line. The air smelled like rain that hadn't fallen yet. The city was awake, but distant-like it was giving her space.
She held a stopwatch in her hand.
Not new.
Not perfect.
Still precious.
There had been a time when this small object meant nothing more than seconds and speed. Before it learned the weight of laughter. Before it learned the sound of a voice saying her name like it was something worth keeping.
She didn't start the timer. Instead, she smiled-softly, almost shyly-as if remembering something sweet and slightly painful.
"Still running ahead of me?" a familiar voice asked from behind. She turned. And there he was.
Jungkook, hair messy, eyes warm, smiling like the world had never broken them apart.
"Always," she said. "You're the one who's slow."
He laughed and stepped closer, closing a distance that no longer scared them.
This time, when she pressed the button, she didn't run alone.
