it's not a slowburn... is it a fastburn?? well i dunno, but welcome to articuno's first attempt at writing anything longer than 700 words. i actually had a lot of fun with this, and i forced my friend (who wanted to go by "best writer in the world") to do a lot of betareading for me. i think it turned out good, haha! i'm planning to break from the canon a bit after this, maybe with a rarepair like yancrose (yanfei x sucrose) where they both go to sumeru academia? that'd be so cute, i'll make some art of them. ooh or i could go an entirely different route with the "gets into fights/faithful nurse" relationship dynamic. anyone got some good canons i could draw from for that? anyway, time to stop monologuing. enjoy and stay tuned for more! Chongyun gets hired to take care of Xingqiu on his adventures because Xingqiu's dad is worried he might get hurt. So he hires Chongyun to pretend to be his friend and go with him to make sure he's safe, but they eventually become real friends. But when Xingqiu overhears Chongyun and his dad talk, he gets sad because he thinks Chongyun is just faking their friendship, he tries to avoid him and tells him to never talk to him again.
