Hot shot is an active and playful five year old. He lives with his parents Heatwave and Quickshadow. His father is a firefighter and his mother is a pediatric nurse. They live in Fort Worth Texas. They live a very normal and happy life there. However soon Hot shot begins to feel unwell. Hot shot has a headache, he is tired, he has nausea with vomiting, he has a stiff neck, and a head tilt. Hot shot's parents are worried. His parents take him to Cook Children's hospital after calling their pediatrician to see what is wrong. Hot shot has an MRI done and other tests too. Hot shot is then diagnosed with Medulloblastoma a type of brain tumor that is brain cancer. Hot shot is brave and ready to fight his cancer head on. At the hospital Hot shot makes friends with four other kids his age with the same type of cancer. They become the best of friends and decide to fight their cancer together. They do tests on Hot shot and discover the defect they were amazed he went undiagnosed but it happen because some people don't find out that have this defect until they are adults. Hot shot is going to need a surgery to fix it and to see a cardiologist on regular basis now. Hot shot meets four other kids his age who also didn't get diagnosed with their heart defects till later and need surgery and possible other treatments. The five of them become friends. Heatwave and Quickshadow are so happy. They now have a baby boy who was just born today. They named him Hot shot. But quickly the joy turns to great concern. They are told that Hot shot has several heart defects. He has a two major heart defects teratology of Fallot, transposition of the great arteries, a small right ventricle, a blocked artery, and two holes in his heart. The doctors are stunned he is alive. He was immediately sent to Texas Children's Hospital. They were stunned about Hot shot's heart. But they saw it could be handled with open heart surgery. So Hot shot was going to begin a journey of trying to stay healthy with an unhealthy heart. He makes friends as he grows up at the heart center who also have serious defects. They do all kinds of tests. Then Starscream is diagnosed with anaplastic ependymoma a type brain tumor that is brain cancer, the common solid tumor cancer in children and the most deadly. Starscream is brave and ready to fight his cancer. He meets a girl his age who has the same type of cancer as him. They become best friends. They decide to fight their cancer together.
