It's been three months since Chris went back up to the mountains , rescuing Josh , who was in the process of becoming a wendigo.

It's been a year since the Hannah and Beth incident occured. A full year since you've last seen you're best friends. Your first and last friends. The ones who introduced you to the friend group were long gone and now the mixed feelings can't be pushed down. Coming back to the lodge would be hard. Chris made a deal to replace and save Josh but was offered a chance at saving all three Washingtons at a huge cost.
