Uncovering the inner workings of true love: how it works, where it comes from, and its appearance. Terance and Loretta are officers for the Cabell County Sheriff's department; they are partners. Loretta lives by her faith and stays courageous in the face of all the world's evils because of peace that passeth all understanding. Terance doesn't have a stand; he doesn't want to believe in a God that he would be accountable to or that would allow so much evil, but he doesn't believe in evolution or an alternate explanation. So where does his peace come from or does he have any? As Loretta's light guides him and as love's true meaning unfolds, Terance has a decision to make. Will he harden his heart, or will he find peace and love as he has never known before?

This is a short-story with the main theme of forgiveness.
