She felt her head spinning at the thought of never being able to see Piet again and slumped into the back of her chair." Janette isn't just a normal girl. No, she is more than that. Sometimes as a Christian, especially one who has grown up going to church, you hear the stories so often they might start to fade into the background and lose the deep meaning behind them. "Oh, the story of Noah and the Ark? Yeah, I've heard it hundreds of times. God was faithful in saving the one guy who was faithful to him, etc." And then we might start to close ourselves off a little bit. Thinking we've heard it so many times that we can't possibly get any more out of it, perhaps? Noah's Ark is one thing, but do we do it with the most important Bible story of all: the crucifixion? One of the things that is super charged, super subjective (meaning emotionally-driven), and political now. . . LGBTQ+. The Church has gotten better about talking about it, but it's still a topic that is avoided and stalled with a simple, "It's a sin, period, done, move on." Here, I found Scripture to talk about each major aspect of LGBTQ, mixed in a little of the sociological knowledge I gained that I found to be Biblically sound and accurate, AND presented a broad guideline for how to approach this topic.
