In 2005, Doctor Who was brought back to television screens after a long sixteen year absence. The incredible success of the new Doctor Who, a success that would have been totally unprecedented only a few years beforehand, captured an entire new generation of viewers and fans. The 21st century version of Doctor Who remained faithful to the original series whilst modernising it, adding a grounded realism to the series with lovable characters and sophisticated story arcs unmatched to many other franchises of it's era.
Across a host of fresh new Doctors, viewers were reintroduced to the classic villains of the original series such as the Daleks and the Cybermen, but also to new monsters and creatures such as the Weeping Angels and the Silence. It is here where this legacy of the New Doctor Who celebrated.
