"Some seasons never come back." When Ice Valderama transfers to Paraiso National High School, he never expects to meet Aiah Salvador, a lazy, carefree girl whose grades are as low as her motivation. But somewhere between late-night reviews, laughter over wrong answers, and shared dreams about the future, they fall in love. Aiah promises Ice she'll make it to UP, that she'll chase their dream so they can be schoolmates again. But when summer ends and results finally come out, Aiah learns that Ice will never see them together. Because while she was learning to dream, he was quietly learning how to say goodbye.

Portland Cromwell should be happy. She has a perfect family, a cheesy best friend and her whole life in front of her. But things start to go downhill like a mudslide. Doctors trying to pinpoint why she keeps passing out randomly and why she always has a headache no matter what she does. Asher Laurier has been given a bit over a year to live, but he's already given up. With everything wrong with him, he just wants the pain to end. Everyone always tells him that there might still be hope, but treatment is living hell and he just wants it to end. When the two cross paths unexpectedly, they begin to influence each other, Portland coming to terms with death and Asher finally deciding there's something worth living for. DISCLAIMER! Yes, this is like everything else I write, but I promise, it's better. It's a little bit 'tfios' but I'm still very proud of it.

I've lost my will to write. I come up with quotes but can't put them together without feeling depleted. My words can be great but are surrounded by unworthy thoughts. I am tired of being sad over the same goddamn things. My heart is worth more than boys, their stupid games, alcoholic drinks, and crappy movies. Screw my hearts worth, try to measure the net worth of my head. My brain with it's tangled thoughts that bleed through the tissue around it. The quotes I think about when I think about nothing and everything combined. My will to see out of my pretty little eyes and open my tiny but boisterous mouth when everything in the universe is against me. I have grown up bearing all my weight and the weight of this goddamned earth on my shoulders when I was born completely fucking innocent. I was picked to be a bull. Mission: Support and protect is what my upbringing was called. They gave the girl who's suppose to hold everyone's baggage shitty knees, and the same girl who is suppose to open pill bottles, and make sure everyone takes their meds hands that suck at being hands and doing the one job they were created to do. And when all else failed and they decided to give her the worst thing ever. And that's when they gave me you. Because when I could finally manage my health, they thought putting stress on my heart would push me into overdrive. Fuck the fact that the world she lived in already revolved putting everything before her, you gave her the once thing she couldn't have and that was trust, and belief that one person can grab her hand and make all the gravity weighing down on her shoulders seem just a little more distributed. You combined the struggles of every known living organism and punched her in the stomach. You. The World. God. Screwed me.

It may start like this: You're sitting in class, squinting your eyes together to try and make out the tiny and blurred squiggles on the blackboard. You rub your left eye once, twice, trying to get rid of that irritating itch you've had since that morning. The fuzzy letters remain the same. You shrug and think you might need new glasses. An excerpt from a life with MS. Written for the justwritebits June 2018: Music.
