She knew she was sick. Her doctors knew she was sick. But the one person meant to protect her never believed the treatment. When her mum chooses a new life over listening to medical advice, she's sent to live with her step-brother - the boy she grew up with, the one person who couldn't say no. At his flat, recovery comes slowly, measured in salt packets, careful steps, and days where standing still feels like success. When circumstances force him back to work, help comes from an unexpected place: a friend who asks questions, learns the condition, and stays - not because he has to, but because he wants to. Measured in Salt is a slow-burn chronic illness story about PoTS, medical neglect, learning to trust treatment, and the quiet kind of love that grows through care, patience, and choice.

At eighteen, everyone takes the Match Test - a government-mandated exam that pairs submissives with their destined Dominant(s) for life. Fiercely independent and stubborn to her core, Sage never imagined her results would shatter her carefully guarded world. Diagnosed with nothing, but suffering daily from unexplained burning pain, dizziness, and sensory overload, Sage has learned to survive alone. Doctors have only ever dismissed her. But when her Match Test assigns her to four dominant physicians - each powerful, skilled, and intimately trained to care for a sub like her - Sage is forced to confront the very people she fears most. As her new Doms work to uncover the hidden illness stealing her strength, Sage must navigate a tangled dance of trust, submission, medical vulnerability, and the overwhelming fear of losing herself in their care. Pain has always been her enemy. Now, she must decide if love - messy, terrifying, and painfully real - is worth the risk. Perfect for readers who crave slow-burn medical D/s, complex disability representation, protective dominance, and fierce heroines who refuse to bow easily.

His pack more than happy to welcome in more than one packless shifter. So it should be no surprise when he gets a call from the Omega Registry, the foundation created to make sure that the gentle wolves that sometimes get abandoned for one reason or the other all get matched with Packs who are willing and able to open up their territories and homes to give them shelter, that he shows no hesitation taking on an omega with no other place to turn to... And that he does it with a smile... Not understanding that this time, the new pack member he's welcomed is so much more than he ever bargained for.

Harmony was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome, a condition that shaped every moment of her life from the day she was born. Hospitals, surgeries, and constant uncertainty became normal, guided by her longtime doctor, Dr. Levi Perry, and her parents, both doctors who did everything to keep her alive while giving her as normal a childhood as possible. Surviving into her teenage years is already a miracle. At fourteen, her life shatters when a car accident kills her parents. Harmony and her older brother George are the only survivors. While George recovers from his injuries, Harmony remains in a coma for two months, waking with severe, lifelong damage to her already fragile heart. Grief, trauma, and medical complications follow her every step. With her parents gone, the family must decide who will take legal guardianship over Harmony and make critical medical decisions when she cannot. Though she has always had a voice, her life is now shaped by choices made in moments when she is too weak to speak. As Harmony struggles to survive both physically and emotionally, she finds unexpected comfort in someone already in her circle-a person she barely knows, who sees her not as broken, but whole. Even with half a heart, Harmony learns that love can make her feel full.

Most 22-year-olds think they're indestructible. Aideen however, the youngest sister of Niall Horan, has known her entire life that she in very, very DEstructable. Born with Cystic Fibrosis, Aideen struggles daily to keep up with her healthy peers. After graduating college and barely surviving an infection that lands her in a grueling 6-month stay in hospital, Aideen admits she's no longer able to care for herself the way she used to. Always the considerate older brother, Niall insists she move in with him. But when Niall's work calls him to a week away in prep for his upcoming tour, Aideen finds herself in the care of the one person she least expected- her brother's former bandmate Harry Styles. Author's Note: This is my first attempt at fanfiction. I tried to make the story line as realistic as possible because it's based on my personal struggle with illness and self-worth. Don't be turned away by that though, it's still goopy romantic and soft. #1 in Chronic Illness 3/11/2020 #1 in 1D 4/12/2020 #2 in Cystic Fibrosis 8/13/2020 #6 in One Direction 3/12/2020 #13 in Harry Styles 3/12/2020

**Crossposted on AO3** "Kid," Tony whispers from his place in the line of groomsmen, kicking his heel softly. "You okay?" "Y-yeah," he whispers, not wanting to take the attention on the altar away from May. May's always made everything about Peter. Always. And that fact only intensified after his type one diabetes diagnosis three months ago. But today? Today is about May. About Happy. About the two of them choosing each other and being happy together, and Peter has done everything he can think of to keep his diabetes and his tendency to be an absolute klutz from interfering with that fact. "I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride," the officiant announces, the small crowd cheering as May and Happy kiss. Peter smiles and claps, feels his body sway a bit and blinks his eyes as he steadies himself. He's fine. Dexcom says he's fine. He's fine. The second the wedding party enters the coolness of the air-conditioned venue, he grabs a glass of water, but it shakes in his hand, splashes a bit on the floor. For what isn't a blood sugar issue, this sure as hell feels like one.

When Ellis Walker moves from her old home and transfers to a new school, she isn't seeking attention, friendship, or love. She's just trying to quietly get by- managing a body that isn't always cooperative, having to choose when to sit or slow down, and when to pretend that she's fine. But then there's Samael Harris. He notices when other people don't. The way Ellis avoids standing for too long, the way she slips out of rooms before anyone can ask questions, and most of all, the way she insists she's okay- even when she clearly isn't. What starts off as curiosity, slowly blossoms into something softer, more vulnerable, and harder to ignore. Navigating a new life and a growing connection she certainly didn't ask for, she's forced to decide how much of herself she's willing to let someone see- the good days, the bad days, and everything in between. Samael doesn't try to fix her. Samael doesn't rush her. He stays. And sometimes? That's enough.
